Finopride is a broad-spectrum systemic insecticide containing Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG — a combination of two highly active insecticide groups that attack pest nervous systems through systemic and contact action. Fipronil insecticide blocks GABA-gated chloride channels in the insect nervous system, causing paralysis and death. Together, they provide both immediate knockdown and long-lasting residual control, making it cost-effective for the farmers. Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG is primarily recommended for White Grub control in Sugarcane and Groundnut through soil drench application, and also widely used as a foliar spray across Cotton, Paddy, Vegetables, and other crops. It also has a proven phytotonic effect that improves root growth, plant vigor, and overall yield.
Dual Nerve Action: Finopride insecticide attacks two different receptor sites in the insect nervous system, giving faster and more complete pest kill than single-active insecticides.
Dual-action: Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG offers internal and external protection to the crops through systemic and contact action.
Long Residual: Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG provides long-lasting protection to the crops from a single application.
Phytotonic Effect: This insecticide has a phytotonic effect that shows better root development, greener leaves, and stronger plant vigor — resulting in better yield.
Wide Crop Coverage: Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG is recommended for Sugarcane and Groundnut soil pests — also effective on Cotton, Paddy, Vegetables, Mango, Grapes, and Citrus.
Soil Pests: White Grubs, Termites, Root Borers, Wireworms
Sucking Insects: Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whiteflies, Leafhoppers
Borers: Stem Borer, Early Shoot Borer, Fruit Borer
Other Pests: Brown Plant Hopper, Pyrilla
For soil pests, apply as a soil drench at the root zone. For above-ground pests, dissolve Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG in 200 liters of water per acre for foliar spray.
Crop | Target Pest | Dose / Acre | Application Method | PHI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Sugarcane | White Grub, Termites, Early Shoot Borer | 200–250 g | Soil drench in the root zone | 296 days |
Groundnut | White Grub, Termites, Aphids | 150–200 g | Soil drench or foliar spray | 45 days |
Cotton | Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whitefly | 100–150 g | Foliar spray | 21 days |
Paddy / Rice | Stem Borer, Brown Plant Hopper | 100–150 g | Foliar spray or soil drench | 25 days |
Vegetables | Whiteflies, Aphids, Thrips | 100–150 g | Foliar spray | 7 days |
Mango / Citrus | Hoppers, Aphids, Thrips | 100–150 g | Foliar spray | 14 days |
Note: Never exceed the recommended dose.
Weigh the required quantity of Finopride as per the dosage table.
Dissolve the granules in a small amount of water first and stir well until completely dispersed.
For foliar spray — pour into the sprayer tank and fill to the required volume with clean water.
Mix well to form a fine and uniform suspension before spraying.
Apply evenly on all plant surfaces, including upper and lower leaf surfaces, for foliar use.
For soil drench — dilute the required dose and apply uniformly in furrows or around the root zone of the plant.
For Sugarcane at planting — spray thoroughly over setts in furrows and cover with soil immediately.
Apply foliar sprays in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cool, and wind speed is low. For soil drench, apply when soil moisture is adequate for better absorption and root zone penetration.
Frequency of Application: For foliar use, apply at the first sign of pest attack and repeat after 14 to 21 days if pest pressure continues. Limit to 2 applications per season. For soil drench, one well-timed application per season is sufficient.
Re-Entry Period: Keep farm workers out of treated fields for at least 24 hours after spraying without protective gear.
Tank-mix Compatibility: Fipronil 40% + Imidacloprid 40% WG is compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. Always run a jar test before combining two products. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline solutions.
