The pest feeds on 182 plant species across 47 families in the Indian subcontinent, with significant damage to 56 species and lesser impact on 126 others.

Recommended Crops: Cotton, Chillies, Tomato, Beans, Cabbage, Pigeon Pea, Chickpea, Cowpea, Cauliflower, Red Gram, Groundnut, Okra, Peas, Field Beans, Soybeans, other Leguminosae, Tobacco, Maize, Flax, and various vegetables.
